Muck Up Day

It's muck up day for year 12, so the butterflies have flown off to school this morning. Carlene said there was a lot of stress and a few tears putting the outfits together, Sarah and Danielle and a few helpers made the wings. End result, two beautiful butterflies.

You can't buy wings like that in a store!
High tensile wire, gossamer crepe hot glued to the wire, and then hand painted in tinsel puffy paint!

what's muck up day? I've never heard of it..I'd ask Leigh but he's all the way in the other room and that would be so far to shout!
My mom made wings for me once too, and if I remember correctly it was not an easy feat as well.
I was a butterfly for figure skating.

Muck up day used to be the last day of the school year for Year 12 and involved a lot of flour fights and wrapping of school buildings in toilet paper - at least thats what we did.
Unfortunately there were a few really bad incidents and a lot of damage to some schools so it was banned across the state. Now the kids have theme day when they come along and spend their last day partying at school. The theme for Sarah's was come as something starting with B, H or S. For Ballarat High school - hence the butterfly!

and a good 'b' choice it was. Probably would have picked it myself. Though I must say that it did bring up a nasty list of things you could be...
